MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS PRIVILEGES

Basic (free) vs. Pro Membership

( Which one makes sense for you? )

* Input your estimated amount of play in the yellow fields below.
Swipe left/right if you do not see active yellow cells.

1. Is there an activation fee? No, there are no activation fees to set up a membership.

2. Are there any additional court fees once I pay for a membership? No, your membership covers all court fees and open play fees. There are no other fees involved unless you want to participate in an H2P event like lessons, drill sessions, leagues, etc.

3. Do I have to have a paid membership to reserve a court? No, if there are courts available within two days, you will be able to reserve the court for a $15 fee for 2 hours. All other participants that are not paid members, would also need to pay a $15 drop in fee.

4. What are the primary benefits of a paid membership? The ability to reserve a court up to 10 days in advance, register for an event 10 days in advance, reduced fees for H2P events, free open play, and higher playing limits per week.

5. How many paid memberships will you sell? 150 until we get more data on court utilization. If we find we could support more members based on court utilization data, we will add a few more. Our primary objective is to make sure we don’t oversell memberships so that members do not have a difficult time reserving a court.

6. How do I sign up for a membership? Until we officially launch in or around February 1st, we will take pre-registrations using this link: https://forms.gle/uzBjs7rcUwMSfDtb8. Once we launch, we will switch to using Court Reserve for sign ups.

7. If I buy an annual membership, can I pay it in monthly installments? No, unfortunately our software does not currently support that.

8. If I switch from a monthly to an annual membership, will I get credited for the extra monthly amount I paid previously? No, once you switch to an annual rate, your rate will go down from that point forward but the change will not be retroactive.

9. When would it make sense for me to switch from drop in rates to a paid membership? Once you play more than once a week and/or plan to participate in H2P events, it would be more cost effective to switch to a paid membership (see calculator above).

10. How did you develop your rates? We benchmarked against clubs in Naperville, IL / Ann Arbor, MI / Chandler, AZ / Spring, TX / Tampa, FL / Ft. Wayne, IN and South Bend. In every case, our rates are lower with the exception of one club. In that case, the club is cheaper up until you play 5 times per month. If you play more than that, our rate is more cost effective.

11. I see why it would make sense to have a membership during the winter months, but why would I want one in the summer when I can play outside for free? Because we have large bay doors which we can open in the summer, the facility will be air cooled, providing cooler temperatures than outside because of the shade provided. In addition, you would never have to worry about rainy or windy conditions. Finally, unlike public courts that are becoming increasingly crowded, you could always reserve a court and play with those that you want to when you want to.

12. Are there any limits on how often I can reserve a court? At least until we get more court utilization data, we are going to limit reservations to once per day for up to 2 hours and 4 times per week for Basic members, and up to 3 hours and 5 times per week for Pro members.

13. Are there limits to how many family members I can have on a family membership? Yes, we currently only have family memberships for up to 2 family members. In general, we anticipate family members would live in the same household. If we find we need to add family memberships for more than 2 members, we will look into the best way to set up and price those. In our benchmarking, we only found one club that offered family memberships with more than 2 people.

14. When will the the original warehouse become unavailable for pickleball? The last scheduled day for pickleball play at the warehouse is Sunday, January 28th.

15. What type of commitment will I have? Monthly: only for the month Annual: commitment for the year
